Based: African elephant
Height: ~5 meters
Length: ~10 meters

Surtr, along with its inferior counterpart, Garm, was an elephant-based bioweapon developed by Charles Burr and his research team of the Iron Chariots using the Hyper-evolution virus. Once infected by the virus, the elephant grew substantially in size, and its tusks became a pair of large bladed limbs, capable of slashing horizontally. Burr unleashed the bioweapon on Jane Bradstreet and Dom Lee in order to prevent them from escaping Jötunheimr. It was killed by the very two people it was sent to stop.

Gameplay[]

In its only appearance in Resident Evil: Hyper-Evolution, Surtr is the second-to-final boss. On Veteran and Professional difficulty, a direct hit from Surtr is an instant kill.

Surtr has 80,000 HP on Veteran difficulty and 200,000 HP on Professional difficulty. Surtr is impervious to all weapons with Penetration Levels below 2 with the exception of its eyes, which are Unarmored, and the inside of its mouth, which is Lightly Armored. When shot in these weak spots, Surtr will receive four times the amount of damage these weapons would otherwise deal.

Attacks[]

  • Tusk swing - Surtr swings its tusks inward in a scissor-like manner, dealing very heavy damage upon direct hit, and dealing heavy damage upon grazing. If the player character is killed by this attack, he/she will be horizontally bisected.
  • Charge - Surtr lowers its head, and then charges at the player's character, dealing very heavy damage on impact, and moderate to heavy damage upon grazing. If the player character is killed by this attack, Gram will crush him/her under its feet.
